▷ this work is done by students in an introductory level computer art class
▷ covering a broad array of subject matter and techniques, the course teaches computer skills but also introduces aspects of conceptual foundations
▷ the goal of this project is to create a collage which translates into visual language a student chosen subject and written statement which details several aspects of that subject
▷ historical and contemporary examples of collage and its origins, along with a discussion about the development of symbolic representation, help to provide the student with a conceptual foundation for their work
▷ though imagery from all sources is permitted, the inclusion of student generated images, either photographic, scanned or generated by hand, is strongly encouraged
