this work is done by students in a mid-level computer-aided design course
the courses’ emphasis is on design principles and visual communication fundamentals with a concentration on print graphics
the class utilizes a variety of projects to introduce the technical aspects of the graphic design field as well as focusing on developing the working methodology necessary for good design
▷ this project starts with the student’s choice of one of several contemporary articles written on a variety of current, multifaceted topics
the project’s goal is to develop the lead double-page spread, and one secondary double -page spread for a fictional magazine called today’s issues
illustrator is utilized for page layout and type setting as well as an illustration tool
photoshop may also be used for illustration and its integration with illustrator is covered extensively
the projects are printed out and assembled (shown here in digital format) to provide the student with a more concrete understanding of the actual piece
